Art Residencies ~ Joanne Coates.

Art residences are an art programme where individuals can collaborate with other artists/photographers to exhibit their work, host and organise events. These programmes provide space and resources for the individuals to carry out their practice, most the artist does get sponsored or paid, however this is not always the case.

Advice on applying:

- On the application make sure it is easy to distinguish who you are, what you do and example of work.

- Make sure to know what they want, the outcomes of the residency.

- It is important to articulate why the interest in the residency.

- Have knowledge about the residency (research into this).

- Keep in touch with individuals collaborated with on this programme as this helps to create a network and may create opportunities in the future.
