Welcome To My Blog

About Me:

I am a third year student at the University of Huddersfield, and I am preparing to enter the photographic industry in a few months. My work currently is largely based on building a commercial portfolio, focusing mostly on product, but I am highly motivated to experiment with other studio based practices such as portraiture, food photography and fashion products.

In recent years, I have focused on my personal photography, which is a more observational type of work which usually focuses on what's happening within my life. For example, last year I completed a project, which was displayed in book form, called 14 Bedrooms, which documented the fundamentals and reality of living with fourteen people in one accommodation. The project explore the hectic manor and disorganisation that comes hand in hand with living in a domestic space. My personal work is still progressing alongside my commercial practice.

During my second year of university, I also was able to partake in my first exhibition, which overall theme was Homeland and was titled Landscape of Meaning. This explored a range of individuals responses to the concept of Homeland and what it meant to them. For myself, I documented the landscapes around me showing appreciation to my home, which allowed me to reflect on my childhood and childhood memories.

This Blog:

This blog documents my experimentation, experiences and learnings on a week to week basis. This will allow me to display and share my knowledge, experiences and how I learnt from failures and mistakes. With this I will be showcasing my current work which will hopefully help to showcase my progress.
